This Privacy Notice applies to Personal Data that you, as a patient or as representative of a patient association or an applicant to our panel, voluntarily choose to provide to Pfizer in the UK or the EEA, when you agree to act as a patient consultant, participate in a panel, an advisory board or focus group, speak at a congress event or otherwise provide us with testimonials. Personal Data is information that identifies you as an individual or relates to a directly or indirectly identifiable individual.
We collect the following types of Personal Data provided by you or generated as a result of your free and voluntary interaction with Pfizer:
If you are a patient or applicant to our panel, advisory board or focus groups, information related to your health conditions and lifestyle or experiences with illness or disease and/or with a particular Pfizer product or service.
Please do not provide us with any information relating to any identifiable individual other than you. This is particularly important if the other individual has a health condition. If you provide any information relating to another identifiable person, you are telling us that you have the authority to share that information and to permit us to use the information as described in this Privacy Notice.
We use Personal Data to:
Enforce the contractual terms and conditions that govern our relationship with you (e.g., advisory board meetings, attendance to scientific congresses or focus groups, testimonials, publications etc.)
Where applicable, the above includes:
Complying with our legal and regulatory obligations around reporting side effects, product complaints and patient safety associated with our products. As part of this, we may contact you if we require further information about the adverse event or complaint that you have reported.
Complying with anti-corruption and transparency obligations.
Protecting our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of our affiliates, you or others. This may mean that we conduct background checks on patients or potential participants of our panel, ad board or focus group, to ensure the safety of all participants.
Aggregating the information that you and other individuals provide (in order that the information does not directly or indirectly identify you or any other individual).
If you are a patient and/or a potential participant of our panel, and your personal data are used, these activities will involve the processing of your health related personal data and will be based on your explicit consent, except where we are required to use that Personal Data to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation, such as when you report an adverse event. If we use Personal Data based on your consent, it will be gathered at the time you voluntarily agree to the relevant contractual relationship or terms of your engagement in the relevant activity, such as your participation in a focus group, etc.). You may withdraw your consent at any time.
The processing of your personal data may also be based on the existence of the relevant contractual relationship or terms of your engagement in the relevant activity, such as your participation in a focus group, etc.) and the above-mentioned legitimate interests. You may opt-out to these legitimate interests by providing a valid reason based on your personal situation.

If you would like to request to review, correct, restrict, delete, or object to the processing of Personal Data that you have provided to us, withdraw your consent or if you would like to request to receive an electronic copy of such Personal Data for purposes of transmitting it to another company, you may contact us as indicated below in the Contact Us section.
In your request, please tell us what Personal Data you would like to have changed, whether you would like to have it suppressed from our database, or otherwise let us know what limitations you would like to put on our use of it. For your protection, we may need to verify your identity before implementing your request. Please note that our ability to fulfil your request will be limited if it prevents us from complying with our legal or regulatory duties.
We will retain your Personal Data for as long as needed or permitted in light of the purpose(s) for which it was obtained and as outlined in this Privacy Notice. The criteria used to determine our retention periods include: (i) the length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you; (ii) whether there is a legal obligation to which we are subject; or (iii) whether retention is advisable in light of our legal position (such as in regard to any applicable terms or agreements, applicable statutes of limitations, litigation, or regulatory investigations).
The data we collect may be stored and processed in any country where we have facilities or in which we engage service providers, including in the U.S. and where our affiliates operate.
Some non-UK/EEA countries are recognized by the UK Government and the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection according to UK/EEA standards (the full list of these countries is available at Data protection adequacy for non-EU countries.) For transfers from the UK/EEA to countries not considered adequate by the UK Government or European Commission, we have put in place adequate measures, such as by ensuring that the recipient is bound by standard data protection clauses recognised or issued in accordance with UK data protection law or, where applicable, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your Personal Data.
